How Email Marketing Chapter - 2

Types of Email Marketing

In actual fact, there are a number of types of email communications you can pitch to your clients, some of which are not directly sales related but can certainly contribute to their bottom line in other ways.Whether you're just starting out with email marketing or you already have some experience sending marketing emails, you've probably wondered about the types of email communication you can send to your database.

There are several options for email marketing and how to use them. From my opinion there are 7 Types of email Marketing
  • Direct Email

  • Newsletter

  • Catalog and Video

  • Lead Generating

  • Invitation/Survey

  • Promotional Email

  • Thank you Email

 Direct Email: -

Direct mail is a way of advertising in which advertisers mail printed ads, letters or other solicitations to large groups of consumers. Bulk-mail rates are used to lower the cost of the mailing, and targeted mailing lists are used to maximize potential response. Direct mail is used in many different situations, limited primarily by the imagination of the advertiser. Stores typically use direct mail to advertise new products or to distribute coupons. Charities typically use the it to raise money or recruit volunteers. Almost any sales pitch can be made by direct mail.

Newsletter: -

Email newsletters are characterized by three key advantages. First, they can spread your brand awareness. By building habitual communication with your email subscribers, you enable them to recognize your brand and associate it with a positive sentiment. Second, email newsletters can leverage existing content. Many companies do quick summaries of their most popular blog posts and link to the articles from their newsletter. Third, email newsletters give you the freedom to include different types of content that might be important to your organization. For instance, the same newsletter can contain a popular blog post, a new offer, an announcement of an upcoming event, information about a discount, and a link to a survey. Catalog and Video: -

As the name implies, catalog and Video emails are electronic versions of print catalogs and videos, though it will usually only list or promote a small sampling of the products available. There are usually dozens of pictures with short descriptions and links underneath encouraging the reader to click the link to learn more and purchase.

Lead Generating: -

Email can be used to qualify potential leads. Track how your non-customers are interacting with your email newsletter; find out what links they are clicking on and what they are reading about. By tracking their interaction you can quickly identify the non-customers that are warm leads and in need of nurturing.

Invitation/Survey

This format is newer than the others, but it works well for many purposes. It is exactly what it sounds like - a questionnaire where the recipient answers some questions and submits it. An example would be a city science center or local gym that wants to learn more about its member's needs and desires. They send a survey, learn more about their members, and maybe offer a prize or free admission in return.

Promotional Email

This type of email marketing campaign is used to create awareness, educate or sell a product or service. Promotional email marketing is advertising created with the sole purpose of increasing sales. It generally includes an incentive, such as a special sale price, gift with purchase, coupon or other limited time offer. These promotional emails are sent to individuals who signed up at the website who is sending them the email.

Thank you Email

Gratitude is certainly a virtue. Make sure you do not forget it when it comes down to blogging. The habit of sending “Thank You” emails might be time consuming, but it is worth while. Send those emails to people commenting on your blog for the first time and they will certainly be glad to return and keep the conversation going.
You can also send emails to people reviewing your blog or linking to your articles. Those emails will give you the opportunity to interact directly with other bloggers and, what is more important, to establish relationships.

Try to use the above sited emails according to their requirement. For more information on How Email Marketing Check the next Post On How Email Marketing
